Gardner-Webb University is a leading regional Christian university with a distinguished history. In 1905, representatives from the Kings Mountain high hunterdon north regional school and Sandy Run Baptist Associations voted to create a high school in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. While high school drop-out rates have steadily declined among white high hunterdon north regional school and African American students over the last twenty years, a constant 35 percent of Latino students continue to quit school before graduation.
